Capture the wonder of a tiny newborn baby with beautiful baby portraits by Lyndsey James at Muse Portrait Studio.
Detail is what Lyndsey likes to capture in her stunning baby portraits
‘They are only this small once so having photos of for example their hands with yours and their array of expressions is a great way of remembering them at this special time when you look back at the images.’
Naturally you like to know who is photographing your children and know that you are taking them to a comfortable place where the experience is friendly and welcoming for them. Lyndsey’s patience with children and ability to work with people is what makes clients return to the studio regularly and brings many recommendations, resulting in most of her work being with babies and children.
“One minute I’ll be photographing a tiny baby sleeping, waiting for that brief moment that they yawn, the next I’ll be running around playing hide and seek with a group of very energetic kids or be covered in feathers from a teenage pyjama party shoot that ended in a pillow fight – it’s certainly a varied job!”
Many clients know they want cute photos that capture personality but also want something that bit different, something they can’t capture at home. Lyndsey has many ideas to style your photographs into little works of art. It may be the simple introduction of a white blanket to softenthe photo, especially effective on close ups of hands and feet but sometimes there is much more to it.
“Its great fun creating stylized baby portraits, and not something we charge extra for as the ultimate aim is creating something really special and different”
Bringing along props can add a touch of personalization to a portrait. Your baby may have received a cuddly bear from an auntie for example, giving auntie a close up photo of baby peeping out from the bear is as good as gifts get! Other such props that have taken part in baby shoots at Muse include bubbles and bath towel, baby wrapped up with a big bow like a present and babies dressed as ladybirds, fairies, flowers and many little Santa babies. If you have an idea, bring along those outfits or props and Lyndsey will happily turn it into reality.
The baby blocks product at the studio is particularly popular, a row of 5” photos typically including face shots and details of hands and feet etc start at £150 for a row of 3 and makes a wonderful gift for new parents.
